Hi, I’m Koli Moss 🌿

I’m the person behind every guide on KidoPlants — every plant care post, every troubleshooting article, and every “why is my pothos doing this” answer comes from me.

How I got here

I didn’t start as any kind of plant expert. My plant obsession started small — a single pothos on a kitchen windowsill that I somehow managed to nearly kill three times in one year. Instead of giving up, I got curious. Why was it yellowing? Why did the leaves curl after I “fixed” the watering? That curiosity turned into a decade-long habit of collecting, propagating, diagnosing, and occasionally mourning houseplants across a rotating cast of apartments — including a few with genuinely terrible natural light, which taught me more about grow lights and foot-candles than any textbook did.

Along the way, I built spreadsheets tracking watering schedules. I tested soil ratios in mismatched pots on a balcony. I bought a cheap lux meter just to stop guessing about “bright indirect light.” Somewhere in that process, KidoPlants stopped being a hobby project and became something I wanted to share properly — with the mistakes included, not edited out.

What I bring to KidoPlants

  • Hands-on experience growing and troubleshooting a wide range of indoor plants, learned through direct practice rather than theory
  • A habit of testing care advice on my own plants before writing about it
  • Honesty about what I don’t know — I’m not a licensed horticulturist, and I’ll always point you toward a professional for anything beyond everyday plant care

Why trust what’s on this site

I write every article myself, based on real experience with my own plants. When I recommend a product, it’s because I’ve used it or researched it carefully — not because a brand paid for the mention. You can read more about how KidoPlants handles recommendations on the About page, and how affiliate links work on the Affiliate Disclosure page.

Have a question, a correction, or just want to share how your plant is doing? Reach me through the Contact page — I read everything that comes in.
