KidoPlants (kidoplants.com) is a plant care and troubleshooting website. This page explains, in plain terms, what information we collect from visitors, why we collect it, and what choices you have. We keep this policy specific to how this site actually works rather than reusing a generic template, so if something here doesn’t match what you’d expect from a small independent plant blog, that’s intentional — it’s meant to reflect KidoPlants, not a boilerplate.

Information We Collect
Information you give us directly: When you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, and whatever you write in the message. If comments are open on a post and you leave one, we collect the name, email, and comment text you submit.
Information collected automatically: Like most websites, our server and analytics tools log standard technical data when you visit — IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and time spent on the site. We use this in aggregate to understand which guides are useful and where the site has problems; we don’t use it to identify individual visitors by name.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics (implemented through the MonsterInsights plugin) to see overall traffic patterns — which articles get read, which search terms bring people here, and how people move through the site. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across the web using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files a site stores on your device. KidoPlants uses them for a few practical reasons: keeping the site’s analytics accurate, remembering basic preferences, and — where affiliate or ad partners are involved — tracking referrals so those partners can attribute a sale or ad impression correctly. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; doing so may affect how some features of the site behave, but the site will still work.
Google AdSense & Advertising
KidoPlants may display ads served by Google AdSense or similar advertising networks, now or in the future. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor’s past visits to this site or other sites on the internet.

How Long We Keep Information
Contact form submissions and emails are kept only as long as needed to answer your question or resolve a correction, and are deleted periodically after that. Comment data (if you leave a comment on a post) stays attached to that comment unless you ask us to remove it. Aggregate analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics’ standard retention settings.
Children’s Privacy
KidoPlants is written for a general adult audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
If you’re in the European Economic Area, you generally have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. If you’re a California resident, the CCPA gives you the right to know what personal information we’ve collected about you, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its sale — we do not sell personal information to third parties.

This Privacy Policy applies only to KidoPlants. We link out to other websites, products, and tools when we think they’ll genuinely help you, but we don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their privacy practices. Check the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit from a link on KidoPlants.

We may update this policy as the site, our tools, or relevant laws change. The date at the top will always reflect the most recent version.
